Transforming lives through micro-finance

End Poverty started in 1985 and after almost three decades of work across the developing world, we understand that poor people in every country have skills and initiative that they want to use to lift their families out of poverty.

We have helped individuals start more than 200,000 small businesses, who have in turn created so many more jobs in 37 different countries, helping to transform and enrich whole communities.

70% of these are women, who often have the primary responsibility to care for and support their children. These are our clients. These are people who make their own decisions on their businesses and have the determined work ethic to succeed.

Our vision for addressing this need has never changed. While relief and aid programs meet immediate emergency needs, we believe that creating business opportunities provides long-term solutions. We exist solely for this purpose – to help hardworking men and women lift themselves, their families and their communities out of poverty.

Most important is that these solutions are sustainable and address the root causes of poverty. Micro lending combined with a caring ongoing support system is the smartest way to help the poor.

Over the years, we have helped form and strengthen many indigenous, Christian economic development organizations around the world to operate their own Microenterprise programs instead of administering a large number of our own permanent branch offices. We help these ministries become financial sustainable and grow in their effectiveness based on the needs of their community and service to the poor.
