Richness Is Making A Real Difference In The World

Project Elev8 is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2014 by Lu Louis and a diverse group of friends with a unified vision to raise the standards of education for the people of Haiti. After the passing of his father, Doris Jean Louis, Lu felt compelled to help his mother manage two schools his family had founded in his native Haiti. In just two years, Project Elev8 has raised over $50,000 for Port-au-Prince.

We believe firmly in and are proud to work with local Haitian merchants and businesses whenever possible.

Last year we were able to raise $30,000, renovating bathrooms and installing energy-efficient lights in Port-au-Prince schools.

Many of the classrooms were used in the dark. We surpassed our original plans and were able to use reserve funds to purchase inverter batteries to power the lights when the main electrical system is down. Our donors have literally brought light into these children’s lives!

A special THANK YOU to Zach Tucker and the good people over at One3LED for the great deal on LED bulbs & fixtures. The school will be seeing a 49% reduction in energy costs. The payback on the total project cost is 1.4 years, meaning the energy savings will pay for the entire cost of the project in just one year.

Our core team members are diverse, coming from Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and various regions of the United States. The team met in Los Angeles prior to the 2010 earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas. In the midst of making their own dreams a reality, they also decided to answer the call to be of service to the Haitian youth.
